Origin of lemongrass oil

Lemongrass is a perennial aromatic grass that grows up to 1 meter high with thin elongated leaves. Originally, lemongrass was growing wild in India before it was harnessed and cultivated for its immense medicinal benefits. Native Indians refer to it as ‘Indian Verbena’ and use it in Ayurvedic medicine to treat infectious illnesses and bring down fevers.

Composition

Lemongrass essential oil contains terpene compounds including citronellal, limonene, nerol, geraniol, citral, myrcene, and geranyl acetate.
